The Industrial Equipment Maintenance Program is a two year program designed to provide you with a thorough understanding of Industrial Equipment Maintenance to meet the needs of local businesses, industries and the labor market.  Training will priovide students an opportunity to develop a broad-based set of skills in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical maintenance.

 

 

 

 

FIRST YEAR

FUNDAMENTALS OF ELECTRICITY

 

Electrical safety

Fundamental blueprint reading

Electrical math concepts

Electrical multimeter

Basic circuits

Connections and wire splices

Participating in the student orgranization

INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL WIRING

 

Install conduit and raceways

Maintain lighting and receptacle outlets

Demonstrate knowledge of grounding methods

Demonstrate knowledge and skills with transformers

Switch and receptacle wiring skills

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE

Electrical safety

Read and interpret schematics and diagrams

National Electric code

Replace electrical motors and protective devices

Change rotation of electrical motor

Perform maintenance on electric motors

Use electrical test equipment to trouble-shoot motor control circuits

Test equipment set-up and operation

 

ROTATING DEVICES AND CONTROL CIRCULTRY

Demonstrate knowledge and skills applicable to control circuitry, pilot devices, motor control and relays

Differentiate between the different types of motor braking circuits

Troubleshoot AC and DC motors

 

 

 

SECOND YEAR

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS IN ELECTRONICS

FUNDAMENTALS OF INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

Shop safety

Select and apply industrial lubricants

Assemble and align a drive mechanism for a conveyor system

Identify tools and uses

HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC SYSTEMS

Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams

Refill or clean filters in systems

Replace and align hydraulic motors and pumps

Install hydraulic and pneumatics line and measure pressure
